The Costa del Sol Suns was founded in early 2007 as a non-profit making organization by two Costa Residents Alberto Lee and Juki Jurvanen. The team’s aim was simply to bring the exciting sport of American Football to the cosmopolitan area of the Costa del Sol.

The exciting nature of the project found a thriving hot-bed of interest within the legions of expatriates and the Suns roster, a combination of seasoned veterans from numerous Spanish & European teams and first year “rookies” from the Spanish football fan base, took shape.

The Teams designs are simply to expand the appeal & knowledge of American Football throughout the Southern Andalusia coast and allow a wide range of people, from all cultural groups & nationalities, to enjoy the excitement and fun of the sport.
